The demand for skilled workers is especially important in the hospitality sector. In response to this growing and notable demand, Bacardi has announced the arrival in our country of shake your future. This initiative aims to offer unemployed youth the opportunity to train as a professional bartenderone of the booming positions in the field of restoration and among which there is the greatest shortage.
For this reason, and after Barcelona last year, Bacardi has decided to launch the program for the first time in MadridEuropean capital experiencing a gastronomic boom like few others. A total of 30 young people -15 in each city- participate in the 10-week course that will provide them with the necessary skills and experience to start a new career behind bars.
Indeed, this pioneering landing of Shake Your Future in Madrid is based on the debut of the program in Barcelona. There already 10 students graduated in 2022 and are now continuing successful careers as true mixologists.

Participants, also in this 2023 edition, will receive training in the art of mixology, as well as gain valuable work experience in some of the main bars and restaurants on the urban scene. Shake Your Future graduates are awarded a internationally recognized diplomagiving them access to permanent employment opportunitieswhich allows them to transform their lives and build a better future.
Bacardi organizes Shake Your Future in collaboration with the European Bartender School of Madrid and Barcelona. This diploma was launched as a pilot in 2018 at Bacardi’s office in France, which at the time was located in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Ouen, to help address the youth unemployment crisis. Since then, it has expanded to Spain and Italy and will also extend to Germany, Belgium and many more countries as part of a plan to bring the same goal to 10,000 young adults around the world by 2030.

Shake Your Future will be held annually in each of the cities where it gets underway, with a growing number of partner bars and restaurants committing to support and offer apprentices the all-important experience they need to change their lives professionally.
