Skip the line and find a match fast in Overwatch 2

Surely you have gone to play Overwatch 2 and you have found a long waiting line. You are not the only one with this problem, some have found up to 40,000 users waiting to find a game. But don’t worry, we are going to explain the reason and how Skip the line to play Overwatch 2.

Blizzard launched the second part of this popular game on October 4, which marks the end of the first installment. Now only Overwatch 2 is available, even 36 hours before the launch the servers were closed to prepare them for the new game. The problem is that an unforeseen problem has arisen that is generating endless queues and pissing off the staff.

Why are these queues generated?

The reason is a huge problem for Blizzard and also for users. Mike Ybarra, CEO of Blizzardhas been the one who has confirmed that they were under a DDoS attack. Later Aaron Keller, Director of Overwatch 2 reported that they were suffering, not one, but two attacks of this type.

Small paragraph. an attack of DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) It is a distributed denial of service attack. What this type of attack does is launch a large flow of information from multiple points, simultaneously and in a coordinated manner, to a single destination point. Normally this type of attack is carried out through a botnet.

Thus, the Blizzard servers for Overwatch 2 are suffering from this type of attack. Due to the current high saturation, it is possible that the most servers are not operational. Something that causes that there are no servers accessible to all.

Unfortunately, these types of attacks are very difficult to stop. There are measures that mitigate or absorb this injection of data, but they are not implemented, just like that. It takes a long time before the anomalous data flow is diverted.

Unfortunately we are experiencing a mass DDoS attack on our servers. Teams are working hard to mitigate/manage. This is causing a lot of drop/connection issues. https://t.co/4GwrfHEiBE

Can I skip the queue to play Overwatch 2?

The reality is that as long as the attack is not fully mitigated, whatever you do, you may have to wait. Surely, with the passing of the hours and days, the queues are getting smaller and smaller, until they disappear. But if you don’t feel like waiting and want play overwatch 2 this weekendwe explain how to skip the queue (or at least wait less)

Something that the game allows us is change overwatch 2 server region which we want to connect to. This is interesting, since we could take advantage of it to connect to servers in other, more distant areas. This practice has a small drawback, and that is that you will surely have more lag than if you use the servers closest to you.

Switching servers is pretty straightforward:

  1. Must open the Battle.net client and go to the game, without running it
  2. In the left zone we look for game version and below it will say Overwatch 2
  3. Next to the name of the game we will see the world iconif we press, a drop-down menu opens with the rEurope, Asia and America regions
  4. we choose another region and try let’s see if we have more luck

Although we do this, it does not imply that we are going to enter directly to play Overwatch 2. We must bear in mind that while the underlying problem continues to exist, we will have to queue. Normally, these queues would decrease with the passing of days.
