Sony announces the first 30+ PlayStation VR2 games

There is just over a month left for the expected arrival on the market of PlayStation VR2, the new virtual reality platform designed by Sony for its console. The exact date of its launch, as it was announced at the beginning of November, will be next February 22 and, as we already told you some time ago, it will mean a significant technological leap with respect to the company’s current VR viewer, something that It can be measured both in its performance and in the number of functions supported.

Let’s remember, for example, that PlayStation VR2 will have eye movement recognition technology, thanks to its association with Tobii, a company specialized in this type of function. We will still have to wait to see the specific use that the various developers give to this technology, but just imagining its potential in horror and suspense games gives you goosebumps, literally and metaphorically.

Now, precisely when talking about the developers, one of the main concerns for all those PlayStation 5 users who are considering getting a PlayStation VR2 comes to mind. I mean, of course, that the viewer will not be compatible with first generation games, that is, PlayStation VR games. Thus, whoever wants to enjoy the latest from Sony in this sense, in addition to the viewer, will also have to go through the box to get one or two games (if they don’t already have them, of course).

In this regard, the main question that has accompanied users has been precisely that, what games will be compatible with PlayStation VR2? It is true that the Japanese technology company has advanced some title that would be available on the viewer’s launch date, but now, with the addition of 13 new titles, the company has published a list in which we can see The first 36 games coming to PlayStation VR2. As we can read in that entry, they will be available from February 22, which we can translate as “between the end of February and March.” They are the following:

  • After the Fall (Vertigo Games)
  • Altair Breaker (Thirdverse)
  • Before Your Eyes (Skybound Interactive, approximate date)
  • Cities VR (Fast Travel Games)
  • Cosmonious High (Owlchemy)

  • Zenith: The Last City (Ramen VR, free update)

The list is, without a doubt, the most varied, which is to be appreciated. It is true that many people will miss a particular title (for example, one of Spider-Man’s adventures), but personally, and although I don’t have a PS5 and it’s not in my plans to get a PlayStation VR2, experiences like the ones it promises providing Horizon Call of the Mountain (an exclusive development for this platform), Jurassic World Aftermath, Gran Turismo 7 or the peerless No Man’s Sky, make the temptation not disappear for a moment.
