Failing to have E3 this year, players around the world can console themselves with the Summer Game Fest 2023. From June 7 to August 11, we will have the right to dozens of conferences, organized either by the main manufacturers, such as the Xbox Games Showcase, or by renowned studios.

We have already had the right to heavy stuff, like these 45 minutes of gameplay for Starfield, a Dantesque trailer for Fable or without forgetting new images for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

And on June 12, it was Ubisoft’s turn to take center stage with the conference Ubisoft Forward. For the occasion, the French publisher presented some unreleased titles such as the new Prince of Persiabut also Avatar: Frontiers of Pandoraan open-world FPS set in the eponymous universe created by James Cameron.

Ubisoft finally unveils Star Wars Outlaws

Like Apple and its “One More Thing”, Ubisoft concluded its presentation by pulling out the heavy artillery. Indeed, the publisher revealed an explosive first gameplay trailer for Star Wars Outlaws.

For neophytes, Star Wars Outlaws presents itself as Ubi’s first open-world Star Wars game. Unlike EA’s Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, the player will not embody an overpowered Jedi here. No, we will find ourselves in the shoes of Kay Vess, a smuggler furiously reminiscent of a certain Han Solo.

The plot of the title will take place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and will therefore take place in a galaxy under the yoke of the Empire. Our character, accompanied by her furry friend Nix, will travel from planet to planet to Climb the intergalactic crime hierarchy.

During the ten minutes of gameplay unveiled by Ubisoft, we were able to see certain mechanics of the game. To sum up, the title should offer a clever mix between stealth, hard-core action, exploration and branching dialogues. Like a certain Starfield, Star Wars Outlaws will also give pride of place to space combat aboard our smuggling vessel.

From what we have seen, the game developed by Massive Entertainment (The Division 1 & 2, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 3) promises great art direction, which will largely take up the aesthetics of the first trilogy directed by George Lucas. For now, we will have to settle for a simple release window for this upcoming title on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC: during 2024.
