Since January 1 of this year, a new tax has been in force in Spain that penalizes non-reusable plastic containers, commonly called “plastic tax”. The regulations have been established in Law 7/2022, of April 8, on waste and contaminated soil for a circular economy (articles 67 to 83). Companies will have to pay 0.45 euros for each kilo of non-reusable plastic. To learn more about this topic we have spoken with César Aliaga, head of ITENE’s Packaging and Circular Economy Unit.
ITENE is a Valencian technology center that offers companies (especially SMEs) cutting-edge knowledge and technology to build a safer and more sustainable future.
