the anime is scheduled to return next year

Ten years after the last episodes, the Bleach series is preparing its return to our screens. The anime adapted from the manga of the same name will return for a final round of episodes, a conclusion that promises to be epic.

It’s on a fitting music that Bleach has made a comeback. “This is what you have been waiting for!” chants the ritornello composed by Shirō Sagisu in a first trailer. At an event celebrating 20 years of the series, Tite Kubo announced the return of the anime on our screens, for a final burst of episodes. This reunion with Ichigo Kurosaki will take place next year, in October precisely.

Almost ten years after the airing of the last episodes, fans will finally be able to discover the conclusion of the characters’ adventures. The previous chapters ran until 2012, when the work on paper was not yet complete. It’s now done, so it’s time to offer a conclusion on the small screen.

We should thus find the protagonist invested with the powers of a Shinigami, a god of death. His new powers allow him to protect humans from evil spirits and guide dead souls to the afterlife. It will be with these new episodes to adapt volumes 55 to 74 from the last arc: The Thousand Year Blood War, shutter is particularly controversial among readers.

As a reminder of the facts, Bleach is a television series aired between 2004 and 2012 on Tokyo TV in Japan. In France, MCM had the rights in 2007, before Direct Star recovered them in 2011. Created by Pierrot Studios, the original series is directed by Noriyuki Abe. If the studios will be producing again, this time around Tomohisa Taguchi will be directing. He notably worked on Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna.

No broadcast in France?

This return, already recorded in the land of the rising sun, has not yet been officially announced in France. If Viz Media, the American publishing house, confirmed that an international broadcast was planned, it did not specify which countries will be affected. We do not know for the moment which French platform or channel will obtain the exclusivity. Note, however, that the first 3 seasons are available on Netflix in France, against 7 for Crunchyroll (151 episodes out of 366).
