The Data Fabric and the reduction of data management tasks, a claim for companies

The technological development that we are facing as a consequence of the digital age in which we live has led to a significant increase in the generation of data throughout the world. The data and consequently its management, become the pillar from which valuable information for companies departs and which allows new ways of working. But although its value is incalculable, data has also been a challenge for companies that cannot manage it efficiently.

The Swiss software engineering company ERNI, through Ayose Iturralde, Responsible for Data and Artificial Intelligence, reports on the usefulness of the Data Fabric and the solutions it offers. It is thus a data management service, to enable the collection, processing and analysis of large amounts of information useful for companies. The Data Fabric allows streamlining data management in an efficient way.

Data automation is possible

During the celebration of Big Data & AI at the Barcelona E-Show, held on March 7 and 8, the Data Fabric was valued as one of the great trends of the moment, considering its ability to offer simplification to the access of data and its management. The Data Fabric enables efficient processing of volumes of data from different sourcesgroups them under the same cloud or administration system, so that companies can manage it in a simpler and more agile way.

The American consulting firm Gartner has already stated that the Data Fabric is a tool that will save costs in the future, being able to reduce data management tasks by up to 70%. However, since 2022 he had been alerting in one of his investigations that the data market or Data Fabric would be the new trend to analyze and process them.

In this sense, Ayose Iturralde has highlighted that “in this way, it is possible to automate the data collection process, which allows having the information faster to make decisions”, and adds that “having the ease of automating the extraction processes and cleansing of data and metadata using the Data Fabric is a very important advance in the industry. It is currently one of the points that consumes the most effort and time in the data collection process”.

The reality of the Data Fabric is a fact and its high demand too, and it is that approximately 74% of companies are already actively looking for new information automation tools for the future of their business. The Data Fabric allows changing the focus of human and machine workloads, optimizing time by automating repetitive tasks.

Machine learning in companies

Another hot topic during the celebration of Big Data & AI at the Barcelona E-Show has been the application by companies of machine learning models, a discipline in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) that, through algorithms empowers teams to identify patterns in big data and make predictions. machine learning allows companies to detect errors in data and thus be able to anticipate problems that may arise later.

There are different companies that have already opted for this type of real solutions that improve their services and optimize their production and logistics. This is the case of Nestlé, which manufactures more than 1,000 million products a day, or Toyota, which with its employability is capable of collaborating with external companies and universities to generate new models that offer answers and solutions to its different departments. Another example is the pharmaceutical company Novartis, which with the use of machine learning can make predictions of the economic results that its campaign will have, and consequently improve its profitability.
