When will The Mandalorian end? Season 3 has just started on Disney+ and is once again a success. Its creator, Jon Favreau, logically thinks about the sequel and confides his feelings on the future of the series.

Asked by Film Stories, Jon Favreau spoke about the direction that the adventures of the Mandalorian could take. For him, there is no fixed end yet, nor even a set goal. He will continue as long as he can.

The Mandalorian could go on forever

You must know that season 4 is already written, although not yet officially commissioned by Lucasfilm. However, Favreau is already thinking about the aftermath when asked what the series holds in the future:

“I really like the dynamic between the two characters which, theoretically, is timeless. I think there’s a lot of potential energy in this relationship, especially when the baby is no longer a baby and starts to grow. It’s happening so slowly that we can make it last over time. But it will depend on the audiences, on whether people like what we do. As long as it’s possible, we’ll be digging on this side and it’s something fun that I don’t want to stop anytime soon. »

Jon Favreau therefore hopes to make his series as long as possible. It is true that The Mandalorian has no “goal”, we just follow the peregrinations of our two heroes in the galaxy. A concept that can be declined ad infinitum and which can even give birth to many spin-offs, such as The Book of Boba Fett or Ahsoka.

As a reminder, The Mandalorian made its debut in November 2019 on Disney+, accompanying the launch of the platform. If other Star Wars series have emerged since, it remains the most popular in terms of audience. Season 3 is currently airing at the rate of one episode per week.
