At the dawn of the year 2022, find out what the 7th art has in store for us in the coming months. Here is our list of films you should not miss, and there are many.

It is not yet a cloudless sky, but there is something better. After two years marked by the pandemic and the closure of cinemas across the world, the 7th art is slowly recovering from an unprecedented crisis which has greatly upset the industry. We can therefore only hope that 2022 will be synonymous with rebirth for the big screen, which has many films in its bag. Here is an overview of the feature films that should not be missed in 2022.

  • Scream – January 12
  • Nightmare alley – January 19

After The Shape of Water, Guillermo del Toro returns with a new drama. This time, no fantasy, he will be interested in human monstrosity with his story adapted from The Charlatan by William Lindsay Gresham. An ambitious young showman, capable of luring and manipulating those around him thanks to his talents as a speaker, will ally himself with a psychiatrist even more dangerous than him. In the cast, we will find Bradley Cooper, Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett in the main roles. Toni Collette and Willem Dafoe will also be on the trip.

  • Morbius – January 26
  • My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission – January 26
  • Death on the Nile – February 9
  • Moonfall – February 9
  • Uncharted – February 16
  • The stars – February 16

After The Mad Adventure of Max and Leon, Jonathan Barré returns to the making of a feature film for the cinema. The duo will this time focus on the adventures of Daniel and Stéphane, who dream of participating in a game show. On the bill, we find unsurprisingly Grégoire Ludig and David Marsais also known as the Palmashow. They already played the main characters of the director’s previous film.

  • The batman – March 2

Pixar is making a comeback on the big screen after two years of absence. The studios will immerse us in the heart of a fantastic adventure alongside Meilin Lee, a 13-year-old teenager torn between her image of a model little girl in her mother’s eyes and the chaos of adolescence. And as if all of these changes weren’t enough, whenever she’s overwhelmed by her emotions, she transforms into a giant red panda. A fantastic epic that should take a tender look at adolescence, a bit like Vice Versa before it.

  • Sonic 2 – April 6
  • Fantastic Beasts 3: Secrets of Dumbledore – April 13
  • The Bad Guys – April 13

Dreamworks will adapt The Bad Guys for cinema. The studios will follow the adventures of a gang of criminal animals, who are about to develop their biggest move: to become respectable citizens. Under the tutelage of Professor Marmelade, they will do everything to restore their image, to the point of becoming heroes by saving the city from a new villain.

Directed by Pierre Perifel (The five legends), the film benefits from a high-flying vocal cast. The role of Mr Wolf was given to Sam Rockwell (Jojo rabbit) while it is Awkwafina (Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings) who will camp Miss Tarantula. Marc Maron (Glow), Craig Robinson (Brooklyn 99) and Anthony Ramos (Where we come from) will also be part of the trip.

In addition to Florent Dorin and Raphaël Descraques, we will find Arnaud Ducret and Enya Baroux in the roles of deputy and his daughter Alice. Simon Astier and Ludovik should also pass a header.

Alice is a young girl who opposes the construction of a nuclear power plant initiated by her father. A strange visitor from the future then transports it to 2555, a future devastated by the explosion of this plant.
