According to numerous sources, Apple is preparing an event for the month of October, and the new iPad Pro with SoC M2 will be the main protagonist of said event. This new professional tablet will have everything to become one of the most advanced and powerful on the market, although its full specifications have not yet been confirmedso we can only wait, at least for now.
However, based on the information that has been filtered, and what we already know about the M2 chip, we can expect a significant performance jump compared to the current model based on the M1 chip. We do not expect major changes in terms of design or quality of finishes, and everything seems to indicate that Apple will maintain the screen format of 11-inch and 12.9-inchso that we will again see two models of different sizes.
Other interesting novelties that are being considered for said event, in addition to the aforementioned iPad Pro, would be the Mac mini with Apple M2 and M2 Pro chips, and there is also talk of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro equipped with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. The latter would have been in development for some time according to reliable sources, so they should be finished for a launch by the end of the year, at least according to the latest information that I have been able to consult.
The possibility of Apple launching a new Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme chips. The latter could be the result of joining two M2 Max chips, which means that Apple would repeat the design it used with the M1 Ultra, a chip that is also equivalent to joining two M1 Max. Performance scaling doesn’t have to be twice that, as joining two chips together doesn’t always result in perfect performance scaling.
Looks like that October event would be mainly focused on the M2 SoC and new professional products that it will use that chip in its different versions, although the possibility that we will also see the announcement of general consumer solutions is not ruled out.
