SEGA’s second miniature console had confirmed its launch in Japan and the United States for a long time, however, it was still unknown when it would finally arrive on the old continent. It was something that, considering the success of the first console, we expected to happen, but seeing how long they have taken to confirm it, we had almost worried. But finally, we already have the day it will arrive in stores written down on the calendar.
When will the Mega Drive Mini 2 be available for purchase?
The new one Mega Drive Mini 2 will hit stores in Europe next October 27, finally coinciding with the launch of the Genesis Mini 2, which is nothing more than the same console for the United States. Let us remember that the first miniature version of the Mega Drive sold quite well, and currently it is impossible to find a unit at its original price, leaving only the second-hand option with its astronomical prices.
We imagine that basically the same thing will happen with this model, since it is a much loved console among the most veteran public, although as we will see later, the console itself does not seem to justify its purchase with the catalog that it includes.
What games will you have installed?
In the same way as the Mega Drive Mini, this second generation will be inspired by the second version of the console in revision form that was released back in 1993. The console was more compact and offered the same performance as the original, but it helped fuel (but not much) interest in the SEGA CD, the accessory that allowed you to play games on CD.
