The most noise-cancelling headphones ever are here

For that, there is a company that has been improving this aspect in all its new releases. It’s called Realme and it sure sounds familiar to you from their phones, but they also make headphones, and very good ones. Today we are going to see his latest novelty.

Realme Buds Air 5 Pro

This would be its name, continuing a product that is doing very well so far and that was already characterized by its effective noise cancellation of between 35dB and 42dB. A real madness analyzing them with the average, which is around 25dB, even some AirPods Pro reduce only 28dB compared to these.

How does noise cancellation work?

The system detects outside noise with built-in microphones (usually one in each ear cup) and sends an equal but opposite cancellation signal to them. By producing this counter signal, the headphones block a large part of external sound sources, thus achieving better audio quality.

What features do these Buds Air 5 Pro bring?

The previous generation, as we mentioned, was already focused on noise cancellation, however, this latest release surpasses it, and by far. The Air 5 Pro have a cancellation of 50 dB and noise reduction up to 4000 Hz. They would be composed with up to 6 microphones that would help them in this function.

It is truly amazing when compared to any other headset. We’ll have to try them out to see how well they do their job, though at first glance, it looks pretty good.

Its pre-sale launch in China is today, May 23, 2023, and the first units are expected to go on sale on the 31st of this month. Therefore, in a little over a week we should start seeing reviews of the product and analyzing if they are as good as they seem. Above all, for its price, it officially costs 399 yuan, which would be a little more than €50 to change. Obviously this will not be its price in Europe, however, we do not expect it to rise much more either. They will still be cheaper than AirPods with only 29dB reduction.

We would need to see the other characteristics and its final sound to be able to assess which is the best purchase. For now we also know that it will have some 40 hour battery with its box and up to 11 hours without charging. That it would take about 2 hours for a full case charge and that they would come with a Type C connection, as well as a low latency of 40ms and waterproof rating IPX5. As for Bluetooth, we would have a version 4.3

So we just have to wait and see what they can offer us, more and more products are coming from Chinese brands that are revolutionizing the ideas of technology that we have in our minds. Let’s hope that this is a new step for other brands to copy the feature, for me fundamental in headphones, and that they continue to improve all kinds of products year after year.
