On social networks, Oppo continues to lift the veil little by little on its high-end smartphone, the Find X5 Pro. We had recently been able to discover the complete technical sheets of the smartphones before their launch, and Oppo has just officially confirmed some of the characteristics of its premium model.

Indeed, Oppo has announced that its Find X5 Pro will use a 50 MP IMX766 main sensor, the same as on the previous generation Find X3 Pro. However, this sensor would not be totally identical to last year’s modelsince it would benefit from a much more advanced optical stabilization.

To give you a better idea of its size, the IMX766 sensor and anti-shake module are almost as big as the entire photo module of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which nevertheless includes three sensors. Oppo has also shared the exact dimensions of its new sensor. The latter measures 22.85 x 25.41 mmagainst only 17.26 x 16.88 mm for the main sensor of the Find X3 Pro of 2021.

With such a large sensor, one would expect better optical stabilization than most smartphones on the market. When we see the size of this new anti-shake module, we understand better why Oppo decided to abandon the microscope sensor of the previous generation.

We will not fail to tell you during our test whether or not this new IMX766 offers perfectly stabilized photos and videos. We also expect better results than the Find X3 Pro thanks to the house NPU MariSilicon X, which Oppo describes as “best in the world”. Its objective would be to improve the quality of the shots, and in particular those in low light. In the meantime, all eyes are on the official presentation of the smartphone which will take place tomorrow, Thursday February 24, 2022 at 12 p.m.
