The Samsung Galaxy S23 will have more autonomy

Yet there are a few months left for the presentation and arrival on the market of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, the top of the range of the Korean technology that, year after year, arrives with a good handful of improvements and novelties with respect to its predecessor version. And although we still have to wait (later, in this same article, I will tell you something about it), as is more than usual in this sector, very interesting information is leaking about what we can expect.

The first big surprise, in this regard, we got it just a few days ago, when we found out that This generation will be “powered”, exclusively, by SoCs Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, leaving the integrated Exynos, of the brand itself, out of it. We already saw, a few weeks ago, some performance tests of a Samsung Galaxy S23 based on the Qualcomm platform but, with the precedents of previous series, we thought that it would be the version for certain markets, while in others they would opt for their own integrated.

And today, thanks to a tweet from the popular (and generally accurate) leaker Ice universe, with the Samsung Galaxy S23 the new Light mode will debut, which will reduce consumption to improve autonomy. As we can read in his message, this new mode «can moderately reduce performance and greatly reduce power consumption without affecting refresh rates.«, that is to say, that this reduction in electrical consumption will allow, however, to continue enjoying the refresh rate of the screen, the expected 120 hertz throughout the range.

There are not many clues, if not to say that there are actually none, that tell us how this mode will work, if it will focus on the consumption of resources by apps and processes in the background or if, on the contrary, it will also affect the software that we are using at that moment or yes, directly, it will constantly reduce the working frequency of the SoC. But, in any case, and given that the features of today’s top-of-the-range devices are well above the needs of many of the uses we usually make of devices, it seems feasible to achieve a reduction in consumption in this way that does not affect the use What do we do with the phone?

On the other hand, it is still early to confirm it, but a rumor that is gaining strength affirms that the company is preparing a Samsung Galaxy Unpacked in San Francisco that would take place during the first week of Februaryan event that, with total security, would be dedicated to the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S23 that, as in previous years, would hit the market a few weeks later, before the end of the same month.
