They filter everything about the new AMD gaming graphics cards for PC

Although it may seem that we are going to talk about the RX 7000, direct competitors of the RTX 40 for a few months, the reality is that AMD seems to postpone everything a little longer and will launch the RX 6 × 50 versions on the market earlier. These graphics cards will have an added curiosity compared to the current RX 6000: they are not intended to be a replacement and given their technical characteristics, they certainly fit that description perfectly. How are these really AMD RX 6000 Refresh?

They have already been baptized as RX 6000 Refresh and even as RDNA 2 Refresh and the truth is that it is a very appropriate term if we take into account that we will have three models focused on the three existing ranges on the market. Will they be worth it being something new and better?

AMD RX 6000 Refresh, the new gaming GPUs

Of course, what AMD is trying to do is position itself in different segments and just above key sales charts. So this RX6950XT it places itself in performance and price ahead of the RX 6900 XT thanks to a chip Navi 21 XTXH (7nm) which includes 80 CUs with 5,120 shaders.

There are no real changes in the chip since it is exactly the same as the RX 6900 XT in terms of technical characteristics except for two details: the frequencies and the speed of its GDDR6X. Due to this we went from 2,015 MHz/2,250 MHz in Clock Gaming and Boost to more interesting ones 2100MHz/2310MHz for those same definitions. On paper, this represents an increase in performance between 5% and 7% if we take into account that it has gone from 16 Gbps memories to 18Gbpswhich increases the bandwidth to 576GB/s

All this drives consumption to 335 watts and the price 100 dollars up until reaching the 1,099 In the USA.

AMD RX6750XT

In the mid-range, the aforementioned formula is repeated, thus obtaining a 7nm Navi 22 XT chip with 40 CU and 2560 Shaders, which also sees its frequencies increase from 2,424 MHz/2,581 MHz to the most competitive 2495MHz/2600MHz in Clock Gaming and Boost respectively.

The other key section is again the VRAM memory, which goes from 16 Gbps to 18Gbps getting bandwidth 432GB/s and altogether a consumption increase of 20 watts to leave it on 250W.

Here we have an expected increase of 5% at most, since in frequencies it is negligible and everything has to do with the memory change and its speed. Its price increases by $20 to achieve the 499.

AMD RX6650XT

It is the smallest of the three GPUs that will hit the market, where AMD repeats the move seen in its two older sisters. For this reason, we have a 7nm Navi 23 XT chip that will integrate 32 CUs with 2,048 Shaders, which increase their frequency from 2,359 MHz/2,589 MHz to 2410MHz/2635MHz respectively.

Once again, memory is what will define AMD’s leap in performance, since we went from the 16 Gbps of the current RX 6600 XT to the 17.5Gbps of this RX 6650 XT, almost a 10% improvement in this section that once again is underestimated by the slight increase in the die, which should reflect a jump similar to that of its just superior sister with approximately 4%- 5% performance bonus.

Finally, the jump in consumption in this one goes from 160 watts to 180 wattswhile its price grows 20 dollars to reach 399 in the country of stars and stripes. It is expected that these graphs will be presented as such next May 10.
