The @XenoPanther account on Twitter has unveiled a new Windows 11 feature that will allow users to directly upload photographs from their smartphone to the operating system’s gallery.
Microsoft never stops retouching its file explorer. Just a few weeks ago, Insiders in the Dev channel had the opportunity to test the display of the photo gallery accessible directly from the side menu of File Explorer. This feature makes it easier to classify and sort your images in Windows 11. To be the true control center of our digital lives, Microsoft’s operating system only needs to allow better synergy between our mobile devices and our PCs.

Microsoft’s Connected Mobile app is a step in the direction of a better integration between PC and smartphone, but the transfer of images between the two devices is not the most instinctive. The Redmond firm is well aware of this, and intends to remedy this situation with a feature that will greatly simplify the sending of photos from a smartphone to Windows 11. (Ambien) According to XenoPanther, the Windows 11 build 23451 deployed to Dev channel from the Insider program contains the beginnings of a one-click photo transfer feature from a smartphone to Windows 11.

The image posted to Twitter tells us that File Explorer’s Gallery interface will sport a new “Add phone photos” button. According to the leaker, the button is currently inactive, which indicates that the general public is not ready to take advantage of this feature and that Microsoft is only at the very beginning of its development. According to MS Power User, this tool will be especially useful when buying a new PC and your File Explorer is empty.
In addition, Windows 11 build 23451 has other improvements, mainly aesthetic:
- a modernized details panel in the new File Explorer
- an improvement of the Windows tool in the spotlight with the display of 4K images in portrait mode
- A facebook-widget animated icons in the taskbar
