Trade Modernization Program: Technological Fund

Within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which also includes the well-known Kit Digital aid programme, the Government has launched the «Trade Modernization Program: Technological Fund». A total of 100 million euros will be “distributed”, non-refundable, among the SMEs in the sector and it will be the CCAAs who manage this aid among the businesses.

The bases published by the Government make it very clear that the funds are directed to the development of plans and projects of technological, innovative and sustainable content. All of them, presented by SMEs in the retail tradeeither individually or through their associations, and that affect the management of the commercial activity and its business model, guaranteeing its adaptation to new consumption habits, sales modalities, positioning and distribution.

Between the eligible expenses are those related to:

  • Digital transformation.
  • Point of sale transformation.
  • Sustainability and circular economy.
  • Supply chain and traceability.
  • Digital transformation of the group of associates.
  • Transformation of the point of sale collectively.
  • Sensitization and training.
  • Previous preparatory actions necessary to establish the provision of services, supply of goods or the performance of the corresponding activities, or the cost of external technical assistance or hiring of personnel when directly contracted for this purpose.

The amount of projects count with games from 2,000 to 80,000 euros and by order of arrival, although some Autonomous Communities have increased the maximum amount.
