WhatsApp finally eliminates this absurd limitation that has been dragging on forever

It is incomprehensible that WhatsApp be the most used messaging platform in the world. It is not the most secure, nor the most private, it is controlled by Meta, one of the most evil companies on the web (in terms of the use of user data), and it has always been behind other alternatives, such as Telegram or Line, in terms of functions and characteristics. However, little by little he is recovering. And, with the novelty that we are talking about today, it is placed almost on a par with its rivals.

Until now, we could only use WhatsApp on a device at the same time. At the time we tried to log in on another device (a second mobile, a Tablet, etc.), the main device was logged out. It is true that, for example, we can use WhatsApp on several devices at the same time through its apps or the web client, but on mobile, from the app, it was only allowed for one device.

A few hours ago, the WhatsApp blog announced one of the most anticipated news by users of this messaging client. Finally, after years of waiting, we are going to be able to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices at once. In total, Meta has decided to limit this functionality to 4 devices, whether mobile or tablet.

WhatsApp Multiple devices

After logging in with our phone on a second device, all the messages we send or receive will be synchronized on all devices at the same time. And we can write indistinctly from any of them. Synchronization, as always, is done safely using the end-to-end encryption of this program.

As a security measure, if a device is idle for a long time, will log you out automatically to avoid that, in case of loss or theft, they can access all the content of the program. Likewise, we will have control over all the devices that are logged in.

This feature has started rolling out right now globally, and is expected to be available to 100% of users in the next two weeks. A much-requested feature that we certainly appreciate, but which, once again, is late.

Another function that we want to see soon in WhatsApp

Being able to log in with the same mobile on 4 devices at the same time is, without a doubt, a good novelty. But what about start WhatsApp with two mobile numbers at the same time on a single device? Surely this is another of the biggest limitations that users face.

It is easy to find Dual SIM phones, which allow you to have two different numbers at the same time (one personal and one work, for example). And unfortunately, WhatsApp only allows one instance of the program, without the possibility of multi-account, allowing only to start with one number at a time on one device. This limitation is probably much more annoying than not being able to start on two devices at the same time on different devices, but even so it has always been present, while its rivals, such as Telegram, have supported multi-accounts for decades.
