The latest Windows update has damaged OneDrive services. After installing the security patch, several users reported that the storage application quits unexpectedly when performing certain actions. Microsoft said a fix should arrive in the next few days.
If your PC is running on Windows 10, chances are you won’t be able to take advantage of the new OneDrive interface anymore. At least, if you have installed the latest operating system update. In fact, this led problems for many users, according to the messages that can be read on Microsoft’s self-help forums. In addition, the Redmond firm has confirmed that there is a problem.
What exactly is happening? For the time being, it would seem that certain very specific actions lead to the spontaneous closing of the application. Others trigger an error message. This can happen, for example, when the user logs out of his OneDrive account, when he tries to uninstall the application or when interacting with certain files or folders from Teams or Sharepoint.

So this is the version KB5018410 of Windows 10 which is the source of the problem, which manifests itself on both the standard and Enterprise versions of OneDrive. Similarly, Windows 10 21H2 and 22H2 users seem to be affected. In fact, as is often the case for this type of case, it suffices to uninstall said update to fix the bug, pending a real solution from Microsoft.

That being said, it should also be pointed out that KB5018410 is a security patch. In other words, uninstalling it is likeexpose to hacking threats against which the update provides protection.
