Windows 11 already has its next 3 updates ready: discover them

Windows 11 follow its development. The Microsoft operating system continues to receive updates, improvements and news of all kinds. Currently, users have already received the first major update, 22H2 of the operating system, as well as two minor updates to it, Moment 1 and Moment 2. But Microsoft is not going to stay here, and it has already prepared what will be the next three updates that will arrive very soon.

The first of the updates that will come to Windows 11 will be Moment 3And it’s going to be very soon. This third Windows 11 22H2 update will introduce even more improvements and novelties in the operating system, such as a new notification system for SMS, improvements in desktop widgets, the possibility of adding a second hand to the system clock, the “snips” app will open by default when doing a screenshot, new options to repair failures and problems without reinstalling and support for USB 4, among other new features.

But besides Moment 3, Microsoft is also working on Moment 4, the fourth minor update to Windows 11 22H2, which will arrive before 23H2 arrives (or at best on par). Of course, on this occasion, Moment 4 is not going to be an update like the other three previous ones, but it is going to focus on updating the system, just as if it were a Service Pack, instead of introducing more changes and news.

These changes and novelties that we are waiting for so much, for now, will be scheduled for 23H2.

Windows 11 23H2: everything we know

At the moment, we don’t know much about this future update beyond the fact that Microsoft plans to launch it towards the end of the year, just like 22H2. Also, since all the big improvements and news are coming with the “Moment” updates, it is more than likely that the 23H2 It’s just a version jump without as many changes as all the updates we’ve seen to date.

This update should arrive with the KB5026440 patch, although users will not be activated until the arrival of the KB5027397 update. At the moment, nothing more is known about the future of the operating system. Not even the date on which Microsoft plans to launch it, although everything indicates that it will be around October or November of this year, not much later.

This pretty much confirms that Windows 11 version 23H2 coming later this year will be a CU release, not a full build upgrade, as 23H2 is based on the same platform release as version 22H2.

Next major version of the Windows platform is still on track to launch in the second half… https://t.co/d3AP9CV5Z0 https://t.co/6yrkbNqEsL

Windows 12 on the horizon

Microsoft has long since abandoned the idea of making Windows continuous, as it planned to do when it launched Windows 10 in 2015. Therefore, the company decided to break with its promise and launch the new version of its operating system, the current Windows 11. And, therefore, keep in mind the future of this system, which will (probably) be Windows 12.

At the moment there is nothing more than speculation about this future operating system. The only thing that seems certain is that we can see it first hand this year, and that Microsoft would plan its launch on the second half of 2024. It will happen? Time will tell.
