Windows 11 will allow you to end processes without resorting to the Task Manager

end processes it is something very useful, since it can help us get rid of conflicting programs and applications that can make Windows 11 slow down, and that can even cause stability problems. To end a process we have to enter the “Task Manager”, and once there it is necessary to right-click on the process we want to end.

It is not complicated, but it is true that to finish a process in Windows 11 we have to follow a series of steps that, in the end, represent a small waste of time. The point is that Microsoft seems to have realized that this very important function deserves a shortcut, and has decided to incorporate it in a limited way in the Windows 11 build 25300 present in the development channel

Its operation is very simple, we just have to right-click on the icon present in the taskbar of the application or program that we have running and choose the option “end task”, which appears clearly differentiated from “close window”.

There is an important difference between both options, and that is that with the first we not only close the window, but also we finish the process, while with the second it is possible that the process continues to work in the background. If that happens, it will continue to consume resources and may cause stability problems.

Windows 11

It seems that this new function is not activated by default, not even in this new build, and that you have to activate it manually. Nevertheless, what is really interesting is that this is an interesting feature which certainly represents added value and would make things a little easier for us.

It is not difficult to understand, and that value goes beyond the convenience of right-clicking directly on the process that we want to end. On specific occasions I have come across games that have given me errors and have left the screen completely black, preventing me from accessing the “Task Manager” but leaving the taskbar visible when pressing “Alt + Tab”. With this new feature you could have finished the process directly, and you wouldn’t have had to log out to get out of that crossroads.

I think this new feature would be a great success on the part of Microsoft, although we don’t know if it will be integrated into the final version of Windows 11, and if it does, we are not sure when it will come to that operating system, so for now we can only wait.
