What is a shortcut?

Before going fully into the shortcut, we are going to define what a shortcut is below: A shortcut it’s a quick way to perform one or more tasks with apps. The Shortcuts app lets you create your own multi-step shortcuts, not to be confused with an action or automation.

How to create a shortcut?

Next we are going to see the six steps that make up the generation of your own shortcuts. However, you can also add third parties to the Shortcuts App. The steps are the following:

  1. In the app Shortcuts on the iOS device , tap in the upper right corner of the screen. An empty, untitled shortcut will appear in the shortcut editor.

  3. A list of action categories.
  4. touch one category (such as Content or Web), then tap an action in the list to add it to the shortcut. You can also touch and hold an action in the list and drag it to the position where you want it to appear in the shortcut editor.
  5. To add another action, Swipe up on the search field at the bottom of the screen and choose an action.
  6. When you’re done adding actions to your workflow, tap OKAY.
