What is a shortcut?
Before going fully into the shortcut, we are going to define what a shortcut is below: A shortcut it’s a quick way to perform one or more tasks with apps. The Shortcuts app lets you create your own multi-step shortcuts, not to be confused with an action or automation.
How to create a shortcut?
Next we are going to see the six steps that make up the generation of your own shortcuts. However, you can also add third parties to the Shortcuts App. The steps are the following:
- In the app Shortcuts on the iOS device , tap in the upper right corner of the screen. An empty, untitled shortcut will appear in the shortcut editor.
- touch “New shortcut”, tap Rename, type the name of the shortcut, and tap OK. touch “Add action”.
- A list of action categories.
- touch one category (such as Content or Web), then tap an action in the list to add it to the shortcut. You can also touch and hold an action in the list and drag it to the position where you want it to appear in the shortcut editor.
- To add another action, Swipe up on the search field at the bottom of the screen and choose an action.
- When you’re done adding actions to your workflow, tap OKAY.

In the next few lines we are going to see how to add shortcuts to our iPhone and what are the most common shortcuts. In the long term, this is an energy saving for our battery and usability.
- Create tweet: If you want to write a tweet from the Twitter App, you can quickly access the Shortcuts app. When executing this shortcut, the twitter application will open and you just have to start writing. To access the link click here.

- Wifi and mobile data: one of the most interesting shortcuts is the possibility of being able to activate and deactivate Wi-Fi and mobile data in a moment. - Translate texts: if you want to translate a text quickly in any language. This way, you can copy the text you want to translate and run this shortcut. Remember that if it is the first time that you are going to add external shortcuts, you may have to go to Ajetes, Allow Untrusted Shortcuts so that you can enter it on your device. If it does not let us activate this option, apply a shortcut from those that come by default and try again.
