A Microsoft error reveals the new Windows 11 update: what are we waiting for?

Windows 11 has changed the development model of the operating system from what we saw in Windows 10. Instead of receiving two new versions a year, Microsoft has decided to release only one new version per year, although that does not mean that between updates, there is no new features coming to the OS. Known as “Moment”, Windows 11 receives waves of features and new functions that, little by little, are providing new functions to the OS. And, thanks to an error, we have been able to know what will be the next update of 22H2: Moment 3.

Currently, Windows 11 is at version 22H2, released to all users by the end of 2022. Since this update, this system has received two new updates more packed with features and new features: Moment 1, and the most recent, Moment 2. .

It is clear that, before the arrival of 23H2, Microsoft was going to release at least one more update with new functions and features. What we surely did not imagine is that this update is closer than we imagined. And indeed it will be Moment 3.

Windows 11 22H2 Moment 3 is now official

Just this weekend, Microsoft published a developer article on how to create a Wi-Fi driver compatible with all versions of Windows. Nothing out of the ordinary, since the company often publishes information of this type to help developers. What was not expected is that, among the dependencies, we would find a reference to Windows 11 22H2 Moment 3, which will be the next system feature update.

Windows 11 Moment 3

This reference, which has already been corrected by Microsoft, confirms that the company is working on the next feature update for Windows 11. We don’t really know when it will arrive, but it is expected to land around May or June of this year.

What will come with the new update

At the moment there is no list of official news, since Microsoft has not confirmed its update. However, we can get an idea of what we will see in this new version of Windows based on the improvements and news that have been coming to the Windows 11 Insider program.

Some of the novelties that we will find we have already seen in past updates. For example, the ability to add seconds to the taskbar clock. We will also find new access keys for file explorer and for the context menu, improvements to the Windows Task Manager, changes to the start menu, better integration of 2FA notifications, improved live captions, and greater support for voice commands. It is even possible that we will receive a long-awaited function that will allow you to close programs from the taskbar.

At the moment, Moment 3 is still in development, and there is no official information about what’s new in this new version, nor about what we will find, or not find, in it. We also don’t know when it will arrive, so we can only keep waiting until Microsoft finally confirms its existence. What is clear is that it will be a great update.
