Deep Insanity: The Lost Child, trailer of the anime linked to Square Enix’s cross-media sci-fi project

Deep Insanity: The Lost Child, the sci-fi anime series that is part of the cross-media project Deep Insanity by Square Enix, has shown itself with the new official trailer.

The promotional video, visible below, was posted online on the project’s official Twitter account. The social post also revealed information regarding the cast, staff and performers of the theme songs, as well as publishing the key visual of the series.

The trailer also previews the opening “Inochi no Tomoshibi” (Light of Life) by Konomi Suzuki, while the closing theme “Shinjuiro no Kakumei” is sung by Kashitarō Itō.

The anime Deep Insanity: The Lost Child premieres on October 12 on Tokyo MX at 24:30 (basically October 13). The series will also air on MBS, BS11, TV Aichi and AT-X, while Abema has the rights to stream the show.

The series is set in a world invaded by the mysterious “Randolph syndrome” which causes sudden comas. At the same time, a huge underground kingdom called “Asylum” was discovered at the South Pole as the origin of the syndrome. Strange creatures, unlike any others on the surface, inhabit there with previously unknown natural resources. To cure Randolph syndrome (and to enrich themselves by plundering the genetic data of creatures and underground resources), people set foot in the Asylum …

The Deep Insanity project is also composed of a prequel manga in course of publication and the video game Deep Insanity: Asylum, whose trailer published by Square Enix reveals that the title will debut on iOS, Android and PC via Steam on October 14th.

The story of the anime is set between the events of the manga and those of the game.
