The more fluidly the character moves in a video game, we will always enjoy a better experience that will allow us to immerse ourselves and enjoy it to the fullest. For a video game character to display as fluent as possiblewe must focus our attention on increasing the number of frames per second (FPS) that our equipment and monitor is capable of offering.
Depending on the features of our equipment, we can make a series of changes and adjustments to the equipment so that our character is shown in the most fluid way possible.
- Close background apps. Any application that is open in the background is consuming RAM memory, reducing the memory available for other applications, which affects the general performance of the game, so we must only leave open the applications that are really necessary for the equipment to function correctly and the game can take advantage of all the capabilities that our hardware offers.
- Use full screen mode. To reduce the load on the graphics card, we must always run the games in full screen, even if the graphic quality leaves something to be desired, since the computer will only focus its activity on displaying the game and not also the Windows graphic interface.
- Reduce graphics quality. We all like to play with as many details as possible, however, in first or third person shooters, we want to have the maximum fluidity that our hardware can offer us. A good way to gain fluidity is by reducing the quality of the graphics so that the load on the graphics card is as little as possible and that our character is shown in a much more fluid way and not in fits and starts.
- Activate Windows Game Mode. Windows Game Mode is designed so that the team prioritizes the gaming experience above any other aspect, which will allow us to gain some additional FPS that, in combination with the graphical reduction, will allow us to immerse ourselves in a very superior.
- Update graphics drivers. The first thing to do when Windows informs us that the application that manages our graphics has an update is to install it. Each update includes improvements in the performance of the associated hardware, improvements that will allow us to gain additional FPS.
- Change power plan. When playing games, we must make the most of the power of the processor and the graphics card, therefore, another section that we must review is related to the power plan of our equipment, establishing the High performance mode, whether it is from a laptop or desktop computer.
