Do you know when it will come out and what price will it have?

It seemed like another ad, for a PC consolidated of the style of those that have been discreetly being marketed in the market in recent years, but it turns out that It’s turning into a little phenomenon with countless reviews and news. Asus ROG ALLY is its name, and it may already have a release date and approximate retail price.

Does the thing speed up?

When a few days ago we learned of Asus’s intention to launch its ROG ALLY, the first thing that also transpired was that surely we would not have news of its launch until the second half of the year, a moment in which video games and developers are preparing to face the Christmas campaign with guarantees of success. But as the days have passed, things are accelerating, and a lot.

So much so that in the last hours information has appeared that would come to advance that Asus ROG ALLY launch window until it is practically imminent, as The Verge speculates in a piece of information that points to two especially important pieces of information: a release date set for May 11, and a price that would be less than $1,000.

Say this PC consolidated will hit the market on May 11 seems a bit hasty, since we have known the machine for a few days and Asus has been very reserved when it comes to talking about certain features that are either still unknown, or they want to use as an argument to convince the players. Be that as it may, it seemed that this ROG ALLY still had a ways to go.

Less than 1,000 euros?

Regarding the price, talking about less than a thousand euros is relatively positive news. First it is because it is confirmed that despite the announced hardware, this ROG ALLY will stay within an acceptable range of cost, although without being certain that it will be cheaper than the most expensive Steam Deck model that, let’s remember, Valve is marketing it for 679 euros.

That is, if nothing changes that lower $1,000 price tag will put Asus ROG ALLY very close to that amountconsistent with other PC models consolidated with similar specifications and whose cost when they reached the market was above around those thousand dollars. Between 900 and 1,000 will be, without a doubt, what we have to pay to get one of them.

Remember that this Asus ROG ALLY arrives with much more vitaminized hardware than that of Steam Deck, not only because of the processor or the graphics itself, which announces a performance that doubles that of Valve’s hardware, but for issues such as the screen, which forgets about 720p and decides to jump to 1080p, which that requires extra effort on the part of the hardware to offer high enough quality rates and frames per second to be attractive to future buyers.

In any case, that May 11 launch date seems too optimistic to us, unless Asus has opted for a partial distribution in certain countries. For example, giving priority to the US leaving Europe or some of its territories (including Spain?) out of the moment to receive it.
