Do you want to try Linux in 2023? These are the best (and it’s not Ubuntu)

Although little by little, Linux continues to grow within personal computers. With the arrival of Windows 11, its increased requirements, and the near end of Windows 10, this alternative operating system has gained many followers who, after many doubts, have finally decided to give it a try. However, if we have ever thought about it, surely a question has arisen: of all of them, which one should I start with? Well let’s see it.

For many years, Ubuntu has been one of the best Linux distros we could find. This system, based on Debian, had a very friendly interface, acceptable development, and optimal operation. However, in recent years Canonical has completely abandoned this operating system, releasing absurd updates and, many times, even going against the community.

Therefore, although it is still an easy and accessible system, Ubuntu is by no means the best Linux that we can install today. On the other hand, if you are thinking of giving this system a try, we are going to see which are the most popular to start the new 2023.

The best easy Linux

Without a doubt, the Linux that has gained the most popularity throughout 2022 has been MX Linux. This system is directly based on Debian, but it has a very light user interface similar to what we can find in Windows. Therefore, any user who is going to start with it will have no problem getting used to it. It has a sleek and efficient design, and a good number of programs to get you started.

If you want something even more like Windows, another excellent option we found is EndeavourOS. It is a lightweight Linux that has a taskbar, menus, and windows very similar to those of Windows 7. Therefore, whether out of habit or nostalgia, it is another excellent option to try.

Finally, within this category, how could it be otherwise, we have to talk about Linux Mint. This system uses Ubuntu as a base, but it changes everything that is wrong (which is not little) in the Canonical distro to create a very light, simple and efficient system that everyone will want to have on their PC. A very easy to use system, and with a large number of programs installed, it will not disappoint you.

Linux for advanced users

If we already have some experience in this operating system, but we want a much more pure and efficient system, there are also distros, more popular than Ubuntu, that we can choose. The first of these is Pop!_OS. This system is not particularly complicated to use, but it has been designed with minimalism in mind. Therefore, some users may find themselves in trouble. It is a very simple and light distro, without unnecessary content, perfect for those who want to work without distractions.

Second, we find Manjaro Linux. This distro is based on one of the best, and most complicated, that we can use, Arch Linux, but it aims to make it simple and accessible for everyone. It is a system that will work perfectly for us, but that already requires a certain degree of knowledge to avoid having problems. If we master it, we will have Linux forever.

Manjaro 21 Ornara

Finally, let’s talk about Fedora. This is one of the best distros for both home and professional use, an excellent system with an infinite number of customization options that, if we are already experienced in Linux, is worth giving a try.
