Epson strengthens its EDU2030 initiative in the classroom

It’s official, Epson has relaunched EDU2030, an important initiative that encompasses all its projects focused on boost and accelerate the digital transformation of classrooms Spaniards starting, yes, from a sustainable approach that responds to the need to care for the environment.

The motto of this initiative is “Connecting futures”, and with it Epson has included different listening, analysis and action initiatives, to understand and respond to the needs of the country’s educational community. At present, as indicated by data from the Ministry of Education, only 41.3% of educational centers in Spain participates in experiences related to the use of educational technologies. This is a problem, because today more than ever digitization has become a fundamental pillar for democratizing classrooms and improving the learning experience for all students.

With EDU2030, Epson offers training and resources so that centers can develop a digital transformation Responsibly. In addition, the project, which is a pioneer in our country, will place special emphasis on the importance of this digitization being sustainable. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), EDU2030 includes activities focused on working on concepts as relevant today as waste reduction or energy efficiency.

This Epson program includes very important keys to facilitate its use by Spanish educational centers, among which we can highlight, for example, a collaboration with the educational organization Junior Report to set up a specific didactic unit that allows all students to learn what the Sustainable Development Goals are, and delve into them through theoretical and practical activities.

They also highlight the personalized audits for centers, which have the objective of helping them to organize a plan for the sustainable technological transition of their classrooms. A group of experts offers advice to the schools attached to the program, to analyze possible actions focused on promoting their sustainable digitization, in a way adapted to the reality and circumstances of each center.

On the other hand, Epson has also developed a study to know the vision and needs of the educational community in relation to the digitization of the classrooms, and the educational experience of the students. The conclusions of this research, which will be made public next October, have served the company as a basis for configuring the different activities that make up the EDU2030 program.
