European prices on the run ahead of presentation

A few weeks before the presentation of the new Samsung Galaxy S22, the prices in euros of the smartphones have leaked. And they are slightly higher than those of their predecessors.

Samsung recently gave us an appointment for an Unpacked event dedicated to its new Galaxy S22 range. Like every year, the series is expected and the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra should continue to take over from the Galaxy Note range. While waiting for Samsung’s official announcement – which should take place between February 8 and 11 -, a new leak provides more information on the prices in euros of the three future models.

Similar pricing to the S21 range, except for the S22 Ultra

According to information from the well-informed Roland Quandt of WinFuture, the South Korean manufacturer should align itself with the price list of the S21 range. The Galaxy S21 would start at 849 euros while the S22+ would be displayed from 1,049 euros. Finally, the S22 Ultra would be offered from 1,249 euros.

These basic models would ship 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, with the possibility of opting for 256 GB versions for the Galaxy S22 (899 euros) and S22 + (1,099 euros). Future spearhead of Samsung, the Galaxy S22 Ultra would be entitled to two variants equipped with 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB (1,349 euros) or 512 GB of storage (1,449 euros).

Regulars of the brand will note that, if this information is confirmed, the S22 Ultra would be satisfied with 8 GB of RAM in its basic version. Last year, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra was immediately offered with 12 GB of RAM for a similar price (1,259 euros at launch).

Samsung promises ‘the most notable Galaxy S, ever’

At the beginning of February, the world’s number one smartphone market promises to make an impression with its new range. Samsung has multiplied the references to the Galaxy Note when announcing its event and the S Pen – emblem of the Note range – should serve as a witness. Indeed, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to once again support the stylus and have productivity-oriented features.

In addition to the stylus, the range is expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm or an Exynos 2200 for models marketed in Europe. Samsung’s new SoC is engraved in 4 nm and embeds a promising graphics part. The manufacturer has approached AMD to offer a GPU based on the RDNA 2 architecture, the same basis as the Sony PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series consoles from Microsoft.

We will have to wait until February to discover the new generation of Galaxy S, which already promises to be “notable”.
