Filtered a video of OVERDOSE, the current project of Hideo Kojima

That Hideo Kojima is, today, one of the key names in the world of gaming It is something that does not admit discussion. Be careful, I’m not talking about valuing their games better or worse, because for different tastes, and I understand that for many people the Death Stranding proposal, to mention only the most recent, will be disconcerting to say the least. I, personally, quite liked it, and its subsequent Death Stranding Director’s Cut, though I keep wondering what kept Kojima from initially publishing “his version” (remember, signed by his own studio, Kojima Productions), made it even more appealing to many. players.

But, as I said, I am not going to enter into discussions about whether his games are good or bad, no, what I am talking about is his presence and influence in the video game sector, and at this point it is indisputable that he is one of the voices that generate more attention whenever they are launched. And, of course, he knows it and does not hesitate to take advantage of it, although sometimes he also likes to play cluelessness. Communication policies, nothing to say at this point.

Be that as it may, it is known that he has been working on a new project for quite some time (it could not be otherwise), and it was even recently leaked that originally this It was going to come exclusively to Google Stadia, but finally the project was discarded by the online gaming platform, which considered that a title without a multiplayer mode was of no interest, because it was a market without the necessary volume of business. I have nothing personal against Phil Harrison who supposedly made this decision, but if so, it adds one more notch to an already long and grim list.

This explained to us the reason why Hideo Kojima ended up, a few months ago, at Microsoft, associating with the technology company to develop, in his own words, «Something never seen before«. A statement that, in combination with Kojima’s more than well-known interest in making the leap to the cinema, puts us on notice that we can expect an even more “cinematic” experience than the aforementioned Death Stranding.

And now, with a video published by Insider Gaming, which has already been removed from its website but can still (at the date and time of writing this news) be found on YouTube, A video that confirms the statement made by Hideo Kojima after the release of Death Stranding, when he stated that he was consuming a lot of horror movies. And it seems that, although it intends to create something really new, which will be based on Xbox Cloud technology, the desire to scare us will continue to be the same as always.

The video, without sound and made by recording a screen, appears to feature Margaret Qualley, who starred in Kojima Productions’ debut game. It shows a character using a flashlight to move through dark corridors from a third person perspective. The video closes with a good scare just before a Game Over is shown, followed by “A Hideo Kojima Game” and finally “OVERDOSE”, which we can understand to be the name of the game.
