Heroic Emerged Victorious From The BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022

After one week of BLAST Premier: Fall Final, the eight teams were whittled down to the final two: Heroic and FaZe Clan. These two giants went head to head in the Grand Final on Nov. 27, with the cadiaN’s team stomping through to a well-deserved victory.

The Danish team won their first big event on LAN, all days after losing the Grand Final of the IEM Rio Major. This result also marked a step forward for the Heroic captain and co., and for the IGL himself personally. In that light, we will make a quick recap of the Grand Final so you can have the best understanding of this memorable matchup in Copenhagen’s Royal Arena.

Best of 3 – The Grand Finals

The Grand Finals have generally been the toughest challenge in any CS:GO tournament, especially for the teams that have already suffered through the Semifinals. Although FaZe started as a slight favorite at GG Bet, the confrontation promised equality due to the Danish team’s enormous desire to lift the first Big Event trophy.

Game 1: Overpass (16-11)

On the first map it started well for FaZe Clan, who scored five consecutive rounds from CT. But then Heroic managed to come back in a light equipment round and led at halftime with a 8-7 score for the Danish team. Captain cadiaN led the pack with a good offensive side and an even better CT that allowed them to get ahead in the series with a 16-11 scoreline.

Game 2: Inferno (12-16)

Next up was Inferno, and the affair was closed, with another 8-7 halftime, again in a favor of the Danish squad, this time as the anti-terrorists though. After the side changes, FaZe managed to crush the defense of Heroic, which lost rounds they should not have. With that, the American opponents take the series to the decider after winning nine rounds and ending Inferno with a 16-12 scoreline.

Game 3: Mirage (19-16)

The Grand Final was going to be decided in the overtime of a close-fought three-map affair. Mirage was set as the decider. Here it was the Danish team who came out strong on their CT side, as they completely sucked the energy from FaZe early on, securing a 9-2 lead and closing out the first half in a convincing fashion.

Heroic was 11-4 ahead before the final half of the tournament, which was as great as it got for either side so far in the game. But then Finn Andersen and co. fought their way back and seemed favored to win at 14-14 with a low buy round, if not for a full-buy play from the Danish team.

Finally, FaZe Clan battled back to set up OT, but couldn’t maintain their pace. It was who won two rounds on their T side, which again gave them the lead. At a 19-16 scoreline, the Royal Arena erupted as Heroic broke the curse and recorded a memorable victory.

Helvijs “broky” Saukants Earned the Final MVP

Heroic may have taken the trophy, but Helvijs “broky” Saukants from FaZe earned the title of most valuable player at the energized Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

The Latvian AWPer particularly stood out in FaZe’s opening games against OG and in the key clutch rounds against Heroic in the Grand Final. But one particular highlight stood out amongst the rest, and by that we mean an incredible AWP clutch against NiP in the Playoffs.

The Next Stage of the BLAST Premier

As we have said earlier, it was a long time in the wilderness for Casper Møller before fighting back to the top. CadiaN can now boast of raising a title live and in front of his fans. The tears of the Danish increased when his mother appeared live.

But with this victory, Heroic not only made a huge step forward and lifted their first Big Event trophy but also the guys secured the final spot to the BLAST Premier: World Final in December – the last S-tier event of the BLAST circuit in 2022.

The tournament will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 14, where Heroic, Outsiders, Natus Vincere, Vitality, FaZe, Liquid, G2, and OG gather together to battle out for the $1,000,000 prize share. So, don’t miss out on a chance to bet on your favorite teams and take advantage of some juicy promotions.
