How to search for images of an exact size on Google

Some time ago, Google made it possible to search for images of an exact size in a very accessible way: in the drop-down menu where the most common sizes were indicated, there was a box for the user to put the one they wanted. Easy as that. But for some reason, the option disappeared from view.

Currently, when you search for images in Google you have the possibility to filter the results by size, through the “Tools > Size” menu. However, the available options are as imprecise as “any size, large, medium, icons«. It is understandable that they did it this way to simplify, but for those looking for images of a more or less defined size…

Not only that: before, as the results appeared in the image search, the size in pixels was shown at the bottom of each one, something that no longer works that way. Now you have to press and hold the cursor over each image to see it. Why would Google remove so much functionality from one of its flagship tools?

Be that as it may, the search engine continues to allow the use of “search operators” and thanks to them we can recover the lost functionality, although to do so you have to do things manually.

A quick but unreliable way to search for images by size is the obvious one, enter the image dimensions along with the search term: “lion 1920×1080” (without the quotes); but it is not very reliable and to check the size of each image you will have to do what has been said, go through each one to see if it corresponds to what you wanted.

Luckily, the search operators continue to work as usual and searching for images by their exact size is as simple as using the one you touch, in this case, «imagesize«. For example: “lion imagesize:1920×1080» (without the quotes) and, voila
