The startup, Insulcloud, has closed a financing round of 4 million euros. One of the company’s great achievements is to have developed a device that improves the quality of life of people with diabetes and their families, thanks to real-time monitoring of the use of disposable insulin pens.
The financing round has been led by one of the most important companies in the diabetes sector in the world. And a key player for the company’s objectives. This milestone represents a great boost for the Spanish company’s 360 technology, since it facilitates its objective of supplying, in real time, all the fundamental information necessary for the daily control of people with diabetes. Such as, for example, blood glucose level, injected insulin, physical activity or intake, which is automatically provided to the clinical history of each patient.
The Insulcloud team led by José Luis López has presented a system that controls the administration of insulin in diabetics known as Insulclock.
Insulcloud was the first company in the world to develop a compatible device with disposable insulin pens to monitor its use and thus avoid possible risks. In addition, the company has launched a platform that allows the different Health Management Systems to manage the monitoring of patients with diabetes in real time.
“We are creating a future”, points out José Luis López, CEO and founder of the company, in which all the data of interest for the follow-up and control of diabetes are directly and automatically in the patient’s own clinical history. «Technologically this is already possible and now is the time to promote it”.
