For them, it has developed its own upscaling technology, which seeks to compete with those of NVIDIA and AMD. NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS are different variants of image upscaling technology. What this technology does is render the game in low graphic quality. This game is then scaled, using different techniques, to a higher resolution.

Intel has released its discrete dedicated graphics cards called Arc. These graphics cards are entry-level, far from the most powerful solutions from AMD and NVIDIA. To improve performance as much as possible, they integrate AI-based Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) technology.
Such technology is very similar to AMD FSR. Both technologies do not require dedicated hardware for this process. NVIDIA DLSS requires the Tensor Core, specific cores for AI.

Something that Intel XeSS has in its favor is the best graphic quality compared to AMD FSR in 1080p and 1440p resolutions. It is far from NVIDIA DLSS, which has been on the market for much longer and has dedicated hardware for this task.
Intel has released a video of The Witcher 3 under XeSS in Ultra quality. Additionally, the game ran with ray tracing, high-resolution textures, and other effects enabled. The game, as shown in the video, goes from 38 FPS to 61 FPS.
Interesting facts, at least, in the first instance
