Is OPPO and OnePlus going to disappear from Europe?

OnePlus 7 Pro review

A series of rumors are appearing today, and they hit two big brands that were gradually gaining a foothold in the market very hard. And it is that OPPO and OnePlus could be considering the closure in some large European countries. But it’s true?

Two greats who leave the old continent

Max Jambor is a German journalist who has advanced a bombshell story. OPPO and OnePlus will leave several countries in Europe to stop marketing their phones in those regions. This is quite an important decision, since both manufacturers have been launching extremely interesting phones for several generations, but it seems that sales have not had to accompany in recent years.

The countries affected by the decision will be Germany, UK, France and the Netherlandsfour quite powerful markets where it seems that both brands did not seem to have market share.

Spain is saved

According to the information published by Jambor, Spain wanted out of this harsh measure, so, for the moment, the phones of both companies would continue to be present in Spanish territory. Both OPPO and OnePlus are doing an excellent job in Spain, and in the case of OnePlus, there is an important community that keeps the brand in good shape.

Therefore, we do not imagine that either of them will take action, at least for the moment, so we do not expect what happened in neighboring countries to be replicated. However, the market pressure is enormous, and the winners are often the usual suspects, so with such a carnivorous industry, we can’t rule anything out just yet.

OnePlus denies it

Apparently, the brands should launch a statement very soon. The journalist has commented that his information was more than confirmed, so it will be a matter of time until the brands rule on the matter. Taking into account the situation in Spain, the local division should not make any statement in this regard.

And the first to do so has been OnePlus, who has confirmed that the brand will not leave Europe or the United Kingdom. The problem with the declarations is that it talks about Europe and the United Kingdom, but does not specify Germany, France or the Netherlands. In other words, the fact that OnePlus continues to market in Spain already means that it will continue in Europe, so the only information that would deny the brand would be the alleged departure from the British Isles.

The strange thing would be that OPPO did finally fall from the British country, in addition to the other countries mentioned, so we will have to continue waiting until any type of confirmation. Let’s remember in any case, that the operations in Spain remain intact for the moment.
