Netflix will add 40 new games this year

It’s been close to two years now since we first learned that Netflix was working to launch its own gaming service, though in reality his interest in playful proposals comes from before. In 2019, it released “Bandersnatch”, an interactive episode of Black Mirror in which we could make decisions that affected the development of the story, and from time to time rumors circulated that the company wanted to formalize this interest with a more specific proposal.

Finally, in 2021 such interest was confirmed, albeit with a limited scope, since the initial offer included only three games available only for Android and iOS. Since then we have seen said catalog grow, although not its scope, although in October of last year we had news that the company was thinking of creating its own platform in the cloud to make access to its games, among which should be including the triple A in which they are working, they can reach more devices.

Thus, as we have been able to see in recent times, it seems that Netflix executives are confident that the inclusion of the game subscription service in the platform’s plans, without this translating into an increase in their price, may be the necessary tool for face a competition that every day is fierceras well as the adverse effects of its policies to end the use of shared accounts, something that has had a very negative impact on its image.
