For the leaker behind these shots, it was above all a mischievous way to denounce the similar designs of two cars.
As you probably know, Tesla has been working for several years now on a new edition of the Tesla Model 3, its particularly popular electric sedan. This version should in particular benefit from a modernized design, with modifications centered mainly on the hood and the front face and the introduction of new lights at the rear. From what is also known from previous leaks is that Project Highland should also enjoy Autopilot Hardware 4.0the latest version of Tesla’s assisted driving software.
Several recent events suggest that the presentation of the new Model 3 is imminent. First of all, and according to statements by several employees of the manufacturer, the production of the current Model 3 would have ceased since August 14, 2023. Moreover, the manufacture of the Model 3 2023 would have already started within of the Shanghai Gigafactory if we are to believe the statements of a Chinese media published at the beginning of August. Thus, mass production would be scheduled for September, while the first deliveries would take place a month later.

Like many users (the photos have been viewed more than 300,000 times on the social network), we fell for it. In truth, iThese are images of the 2023 Model S, the reworked version of Tesla’s sports coupe. We suspect that the leaker was not trying to mislead his audience, but rather to emphasize how the Model 3 Project Highland will look like a last generation Model S.
So far, there is only one stolen photo of the Model 3 Project Highland. Indeed, a snapshot of the car in black and partially covered with a tarpaulin was shared on Reddit a few weeks ago. At that time, many parallels were made between the design of this Model 3 and the current Model S.
