Pervasive Technologies names Joan Codina new Senior Data Scientist

Pervasive Technologies has reinforced its staff with the appointment of Joan Codina like new Senior Data Scientist.

The company specialized in the development of solutions for image recognition through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) incorporates this graduate in Physics from the University of Barcelona where he also completed a Master’s in Biophysics and a PhD.

Subsequently, he specialized in computational physics and complex systems and participated in Spanish research projects, presentations at international conferences and the organization of scientific and outreach conferences. At the same time, she taught probability theory, mathematical analysis and physics laboratories at the University of Barcelona.

Data analysis and research

Codina has extensive experience in data analysis and research where he has applied regression, classification and clustering techniques. Before his arrival at Pervasive Technologies, he performed his work as a collaborator in Dallonses, Barcelona digital creative agency. There, as part of his work, he developed functions such as the analysis and creation of MongoDB and Python data models, for subsequent visualization in Power BI, and the design of an image classification algorithm using CNN techniques in TensorFlow.

Likewise, since 2019 he has been carrying out postdoctoral research at the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing) where he manages projects, tutors doctoral theses and carries out international collaboration with France, Germany, Barcelona and China.
