If you have a Galaxy S23, Samsung has something to tell you. Or to warn you, rather. It turns out that the South Korean manufacturer is tired of seeing how some unofficial accessories for its brand new smartphone are damaging some of the components of the phone, to such an extent that it has decided to issue an official statement on its local website.
The use of official and unofficial accessories
We are not telling you anything new if we tell you that unofficial phone accessories are the order of the day. There are thousands of manufacturers dedicated to creating accessories of all kinds, especially for the most popular phones and those with the highest sales circulation and, of course, also for the high-end models with the most media coverage.
Phones like the iPhone, Huawei equipment and, of course, Samsung devices are generally the protagonists of a whole plan of accessories that are launched to offer the same as their manufacturer but at a much more affordable price. And that is where the main problem lies: the official accessories sometimes they are so ridiculously expensive that after disbursing for an iPhone 14 or a Galaxy S23, the last thing you want is to spend 60 euros more on a case, for example.
Many of the alternatives that we find on the market tend to offer very good results, but we also see many rubbish and dubious quality options that can even end up being harmful to the equipment. For this reason, Samsung has not thought about it anymore and has decided warn to its users about the current accessories created for the Galaxy S23.
Beware of non-original accessories and the camera
Specifically, Samsung wanted to warn the owners of the smartphone model in relation to its photographic camera. Apparently, the company is looking at numerous cases where unofficial lens protectors are causing scratches and damage in elements of the camera when the complement is placed and later it is removed without the necessary care. The use of accessories of this type, which are not manufactured by Samsung itself or are not certified, may also generate humidity around the camera, not fitting as well as it should.
Not only this. The company also notes that it may affect the use of the microphone, if used an accessory that covers it totally or partially.
The Asian firm ends its document with a clear and concise statement, as a summary, stating that Samsung Electronics does not recommend the use of non-genuine accessories and recommends the use of Samsung-certified or original accessories for safe use of the product.
