Some physical editions of Starfield have little physical

Just a couple of weeks ago, Starfield It has become the game of the moment. The most anticipated, the most hype It has managed to gather around it and, also, the one that is leading the most controversies – artificial or not – if only because of its status as an Xbox exclusive and that it was once on the list of future PS5.

But Microsoft ended up buying Bethesda and that dream of PlayStation users ended up in the garbage can, where the project of Starfield for Sony console so just for that there is a front of users who seem to have sworn eternal hatred to a development that, over the years, do not rule out that it ends up being available for the Japanese machine.

Have you reserved your game yet?

If you are one of the farsighted people who wanted to anticipate events and in order not to take risks with the units available in the store, you have already reserved yours, surely you will be delighted and looking forward to it, not only to be able to display it on one of the shelves home, but also for sniff and touch that box and, of course, the installation disk.

Well, if those are your claims, you should know a small detail that was already known but that many of those who have already gone through the box were not aware of. And it is that the Constellation Edition Starfield it will be anything but physical, so you will have a briefcase and a watch, extras galore because it is a special collector’s version and that’s it. Because disc, what we all understand as a game Blu-ray, you will not be able to taste.

Starfield Constellation Edition.

This has been confirmed from the official Bethesda account to users who did not quite believe it, where they have made it clear that versions like the Constellation will bring an exclusive item with a code engraved on it with which they can download the game in digital format for Xbox or PC. Something that became very clear after the famous direct from Microsoft… but that nobody seemed to have read and understood the fine print until today.

Only a physical version

As it is, it is clear that the Constellation Edition will be the most important and expensive of all –around 300 euros– and that it would not bring a physical disc to install the game since it will entrust everything to a download from the digital store that we choose. Something that, as we remind you again, we thought was clear after Todd Howard’s presentation but that over the weeks he has become strangely entangled in social networks.

Of course, in the event that you prefer a more modest edition, then yes, you will take home a box like the usual ones, for Xbox Series X | S and a disk inside with the game. Although later, as you can imagine, it will surely be complemented with a day one download patch and new updates that will go so far as to turn that Blu-ray into something unnecessary. Or do you think that in 10 years what the disc brings will not even be similar to how the client of Starfield?

It will have changed so much that the physical format for which we have fought so hard will be irrelevant…
