Tesla Introduces Two Stunning New Paints For Europe-Exclusive Model Ys

Tesla has just announced the launch of new paints available as an option for the Model Y Long Range and Performance manufactured at the Gigafactory in Berlin-Brandenburg. Named Midnight Cherry Red and Gris Quicksilver, they are priced at €3,000 and €3,200 respectively.

Whereas Tesla has just announced exceptional financial results for the 3rd quarter of 2022the manufacturer ag confirmed the launch of new paints for the Model Y. Baptized Midnight Cherry Red (Red) and Quicksilver (Grey), these new rather sublime colors are produced within the Gigafactory in Berlin-Brandenburg and are intended only for Model Y Great Autonomy and Performance manufactured on this site.

Invoiced respectively at €3000 and €3200, these two paints are reserved exclusively for Europe and the Middle East. Enough to infuriate customers across the Atlantic. It should also be noted that they replace the metallic Night gray (€1,600) and the Multilayer red (€2,000), now only available on the Model Y Propulsion.

More expensive paints that offer unique reflections

According to Tesla, the Berlin Gigafactory paint shop takes advantage of a unique setup. It was obviously designed to design and apply these new paints. “Within this highly automated spray booth, we can apply up to 13 coats of paint, providing unique depth and an exceptional finish.” details Tesla.

As the manufacturer mentions, these layers of highly pigmented metallic paints make it possible to obtain changing reflections with the curves of the vehicle. According to the brand, the first deliveries of Model Y with the Quicksilver colors are announced for the end of 2022while those with the Midnight Cherry Red color will not start before the beginning of 2023. Remember that the Model Y Grande Autonomie and Performance are available in France on the official store of the manufacturer at the respective prices of €64,990 and €69,990.

Remember, in April 2022, Tesla had unveiled behind the scenes of the manufacture of Model Y in the Gigafactory in Berlin. The opportunity for users to discover an impressive almost fully automated manufacturing process. We see in particular the Giga Press, a huge machine made by the Idra Group in Italy responsible for die-casting a molten metal alloy inside a reusable mould. Thanks to it, Tesla is able to assemble the main elements of the Model Y body in just a few seconds.
