Today, Thursday, December 9, a new edition of The Game Awards, the most important awards ceremony in the video game industry, during the event the best titles released in 2021 were announced, as well as the revelation of some trailers and surprises.
Like last year, the event featured more than 30 categories, including Best Multiplayer, Best Studio, Best Family Game, Best Mobile Game, Best Soundtrack, Best Independent Game and -obviously- the highest award of the evening: Best Game of the Year 2021 (GOTY).
The awards ceremony was directed by Geoff Keighley, organizer of the event, who has anticipated that this edition will be the largest to date. It featured the appearance of more than 50 games that will be shown and that will arrive sometime in 2022/2023.
GOTY Nominees
Among the nominees for Game of the Year were the titles It Takes Two, Deathloop, Metroid Dread, Psychonuats 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Y Resident Evil Village, which were outlined to win this Thursday the most fought medals.
Where to see and at what time
The Game Awards gala began on Thursday, December 9 at 3:30 p.m. (Los Angeles), 11:00 p.m. (London) and 8:00 a.m. on Friday (Tokyo); in the case of Mexico, the transmission began with a pre-show at 6:30 p.m.
The awards ceremony for the most outstanding of the world of video games was followed live through the platforms of The Game Awards like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Steam, and TikTok.

The competition was very close between all nominees for game of the year, They stood out from the rest for their design, narrative, music and other elements, becoming the most beloved games of 2021. However, only some of them could take the long-awaited statuette.
