Big moment for fans of PlayStation games: The Last of Us Part I, which will soon be available on PC, will also be entitled to a Steam Deck version. It was Neil Druckmann himself who confirmed the news on Twitter, once again underlining Sony’s desire to establish itself in the PC and, indeed, portable gaming market.
It’s been some time now that Sony has made no secret of its ambitions to invade the PC market with its most popular PlayStation games. The latest to have been entitled to its port is the excellent Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The Japanese firm does not intend to stop there and recently announced a new port that promises to make many happy: The Last of Us Part I, which will land on Steam on March 3, 2023.
That Sony finally decides to make its games available to PC players is very good news, but one last category of players is still waiting to be able to enjoy the publisher’s cult titles: Steam Deck players. If the calculation seems simple at first (“if the game is available on Steam, it must also be on Steam Deck right?”), the reality is a bit more complicated.

Indeed, we now know that not all games on Steam are necessarily compatible with Valve’s console and that certain adjustments must be made for this to be the case. For the time being, no Sony game is running on the Steam Deck, but that is about to change soon. Indeed, The Last of Us Part I will be the first title to be available on the console.

Neil Druckmann confirmed the news on Twitter, in response to a user. We imagine that this version will be available the same day as the PC version, although no details have been made on this subject. With The Last of Us Part I, Sony will sign its big return to the portable video game market. Although this time it is not its own console.
