If you are thinking of buying an official Apple keyboard, in this post we review all the ones you can find right now. We will see the different characteristics they have, as well as the compatibilities of each one. Whether you have a Mac or an iPad, there is a keyboard that will most likely end up adapting to your tastes and needs.
Made for Mac
The first official keyboards that we are going to teach are those that have been originally designed for the Mac. However, depending on how you work with an iPad, they can also work for you, since they are also compatible.
In this family branch of Magic Keyboard, we can divide the keyboards into two ways: those with Touch ID (and those without), or those with a numeric keypad (and those without). Regarding keyboards with TouchID, it is important to note that they will only be compatible with Mac computers with Apple Silicon. If we have a Mac with an Intel processor, we will not be able to use it, and we will have to use a keyboard without Touch ID. The list of keyboards, with their official prices at Apple is as follows:

And if you realize, the detail of choosing the keyboard in black, instead of the “standard” white, means a price increase of 20 euros in the official store. Made for the iPad
Apple also sells official keyboards for the iPad. However, here the terrain of compatibility changes. Magic Keyboard for Mac works thanks to Bluetooth. But in this case, they need to be magnetically attached to the iPad. So, if we buy one of these keyboards, it has to be for that specific iPad model. The list of keyboards, with their official prices is as follows. However, their prices vary outside of the official Apple Store. So, for one thing, Smart Keyboard keyboards have a more classic design. They only have the keyboard (properly) and don’t give us as much leeway as Magic keyboards do. These include a trackpad, as well as a keyboard, and the design allows more freedom of movement, thanks to its construction in a base format (iPad Pro and Air) or in two pieces, and which reminds us of the design of the Surface (in the case of the Magic Keyboard Folio for the 10th-generation iPad).
