This is the fastest SSD you can install in your Steam Deck

The well-known manufacturer Corsair has just given a surprise, launching its new SSD on the market without prior notice MP600 Miniand it turns out that it becomes one of the fastest SSDs that you can buy and install in a portable console Steam Deck from Valve, since it comes in M.2 2230 format. In addition to this MP600 Mini, the manufacturer also launches the MP600 CORE XTwhich we are also going to talk about in this article.

Corsair is a manufacturer with extensive experience in the field of PC storage, and proof of this is that they have been launching SSDs to the market from that already outdated SATA 3 interface. What is a fact is that they have always been positioned as very high-performance SSDs. high performance, reaching the levels that interfaces allow at all times, and of course this MP600 Mini is no exception.

Corsair MP600 Mini, a 1 TB SSD ideal for Steam Deck

The Corsair MP600 Mini is, as its name suggests, a smaller version of the well-known MP600, since instead of having the usual M.2 2280 form factor that we use on PCs, it is M.2 2230 (estop means that it measures only 22 x 30 mm), a fact that makes it compatible and also ideal for use on Valve’s portable console, the Steam Deck. In addition to this, it would also be compatible with other devices, such as Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and 9and of course on PC.

Even so, with its PCI-Express 4.0 interface it is capable of offering speeds of up to 4,800 MB/s both read and write, so it will make games “fly” on portable consoles that support this type of storage.

The bad part about its small size is that it is also limited in the number of memory chips it can accommodate, and therefore the Corsair MP600 Mini is only available in 1TB capacity. The official price of this 1 TB capacity unit is €124.99although that is in the manufacturer’s store and possibly we can soon find it somewhat cheaper in the brand’s usual store network.

Corsair MP600 CORE XT, improving the quality / price ratio

On the other hand, Corsair has also announced the launch of its new MP600 CORE XT units, in this case with the usual M.2 2280 format that we are used to in the PC industry. These SSDs make use of 3D QLC NAND Flash memory chips, which allows them to provide high density with more than decent performance, but at fairly contained prices.

In this case, the MP600 CORE XT come in 1, 2, and 4 TB capacities, and all feature a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface that offers theoretical speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s read and 4,400 MB/s write, with durability up to 900 TBW on the 4 TB model.

In this case, the 1TB capacity model retails for just €69.99while the 2TB model will cost €134.99. The 4TB capacity model is a little more expensive, as Corsair has tagged it with a price of €324.99. All of them are now available on the manufacturer’s website, and will soon be available in the manufacturer’s usual network of stores.
