And although it is true that the evolution of this market has not been as marked as some predictions made one and two years ago, we have been able to see growth and, what is more interesting, the growing confidence in it on the part of other manufacturers, who have been encouraged to enrich the ecosystem.
Although we are still waiting for the official confirmation of its celebration date, everything indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked this summer will take place on July 26 or 27, and in my opinion it is more probable that the day finally chosen, of both, is Wednesday the 26th, since the Korean technology company has already shown a preference for that day of the week on previous occasions. Be that as it may, it will not take us too long to find out, since the announcement of the date is getting closer to being imminent.
We know that the main stars of this event will be the aforementioned Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, of which we have been receiving interesting leaks for some time, and also the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, the new iteration of the company’s smartwatch. . Nothing particularly surprising in terms of approach and products, but nonetheless surely it will entail very interesting developments with respect to these generational changes.
The hinge is a key element in the design of folding smartphones, so it is probably the element on which manufacturers apply the most R&D of their own for their devices. Thus, when the signs began to point in the direction that a major change was coming in this new generation, the interest that this aroused was widespread. And now, through some images that we found in Android Police, we verify that, indeed, the hinge of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be a big change compared to the current model.
Until now, although the distance was minimal, the Samsung foldables did not close 100%, that is, there was a minimum space between certain points on both screens. However, as you can see in the images, now they are fully supported one on top of the other, which translates into a higher level of protection for them when the device is folded. The images are of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, but there have been rumors that the Flip 5 could also use this new design of hinge.
