Transportation startup Trucksters records $30 million in revenue in 2022

Trucksters are in luck. The Spanish road freight startup posted a record annual revenue of €30 million last year. This supposes a 300% increase from 2021 and full compliance with its annual goals for the year.

Since its inception in 2018, the relay company has been praised by investors and clients for its relay model that uses Artificial Intelligence and Big Data to modernize traditional freight transport. The company, which this year announced the opening of a corridor in the United Kingdom, has managed to reduce transit times by 50%, which is equivalent to air transport times but at the cost of road transport. And what is more important, the company’s model is helping to improve the lives of truckers, who can sleep many more nights at home.

With an equally impressive annual sales growth of 300% by 2022, one of the key factors in the company’s success has been targeting large clients with a great capacity for growth, providing them with fast and reliable solutions such as increasing the size of their fleet to support greater demand. For example, in 2022, Trucksters managed to increase its fleet three times, overcoming important challenges such as the severe shortage of drivers.

Luis Bardají, Trucksters co-founder, is very satisfied and proud of the results: «even in difficult times, with problems like the diesel crisis and the war in Ukraine, we have managed to maintain a high level of growth.”

«Our growth is due to our team, their commitment and their excellent performance. Hiring teams in record time, implementing state-of-the-art technology and consolidating complex processes for our clients while still providing great service is not easy, but they have done it“, Add.

Strong international growth

One of the highlights of 2022 was obtaining an extension of 8 million euros from the company’s Series A round, bringing the round to a total of €14.3 million. This new investment was clear proof of the confidence of current investors in the company and its future. The round was backed by Kibo Ventures, German logistics fund Amplifier, Bonsai Partners, the German joint venture of Axel Springer and Porsche, Big Sur Ventures, Metavallon VC and The Valley VC funds. In addition, Sacha Michaud, co-founder of Glovo, and Juan Urdiales, co-general director of Job & Talent, also participated in the investment.

This support has allowed Trucksters continue its international growth expanding the team to almost 100 employees in Spain, Belgium, Germany and Poland, and operating in 7 countries: The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Poland, the United Kingdom, France and Spain.

The company also announced the opening this year of its new corridor that connects the UK with mainland Europe. This is the first Trucksters corridor outside the EU, linking Barcelona and northern Spain with the UK in 28-34 hours, 50% faster than current transport times.
