In association with Recommerce, a site specializing in the sale of refurbished devices, Free now offers a trade-in offer of up to €500 for your old smartphone. An amount to be deducted of course on the purchase of a new mobile. We explain the details of the operation.
Like the vast majority of French operators, Free multiplies offers to hope to attract subscribers. Some succeed, and others do not, like this operation offering 4K TV over 30 months.
But on March 1, 2023, the troublemaker of the Net is launching a new offer, in cooperation with the French reconditioning specialist Recommerce. The promise is as follows: up to €500 trade-in on your old valid smartphone for the purchase of a new mobile with or without a Free mobile plan.
Free takeover offer, the steps to follow
On the page dedicated to the operation, it is possible to estimate the value of your old mobile in a few clicks. To determine the trade-in amount, you will need to answer four questions:
- What is the external appearance of the product?
- Does the product turn on?
- Are the buttons and screen functional?
- Have Google Accounts and Lock System been removed?
Free also specifies that the recovery price may be reassessed after the verification of the product, in particular in the event of inconsistencies with your declaration. Please note, however, that you must meet certain conditions to resell your mobile. First of all, it is imperative to be the ownerwhile the trade-in value must be greater than €10.
In addition, note that the takeover offer can be added an additional bonus of a maximum of one hundred euros on a selection of recent smartphones such as the iPhone 14 Pro (€70) or the Samsung Galaxy S23 (€100).
A Pixel 7 in perfect condition repossessed… 124 €
On our side, we carried out some tests to discover the recovery amounts offered by Free. So, for a Google Pixel 7 5G 128 GB in very good condition, the offer is €124. We hoped for better for this excellent mid-range smartphone launched in October 2022 and still sold from €649 on the manufacturer’s official website.
As you will have understood, if you are interested in buying an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, you therefore benefit from an additional trade-in bonus of €70. Fact, our Pixel 7 will bring us 194 € out of the 1229 € requested (for a purchase over a period of 24 months).
Of course, if you have a newer model, the envelope is more important. So, Free offers €457 trade-in for an iPhone 13 Pro 128 GB, to which are added the 70 € bonus for the purchase of an iPhone 14 Pro. That is €527 in total.
