In the catalog of Apple’s own applications, we have a good video editor for the most demanding professionals: Final Cut Pro. Well, this program has just received an important update: version 10.6.2.

This new version brings a couple of important new features, such as the detection of duplicates and voice isolation. Apart, of course, from its optimization to exploit the features offered by the new MacStudio.

It’s been a couple of days since you can update Final Cut Pro to its latest version, the 10.6.2. This update includes two main new features: duplicate detection and voice isolation. Duplicate detection is a feature that will be greatly appreciated by those who edit long-form content and documentaries, while voice isolation exercises machine learning to help isolate the frequencies of the human voice.

The duplicate detection it is ideal for identifying ranges of duplicate scenes within the timeline, an excellent tool for long-form video content.

To quickly identify duplicate ranges, simply click on the clip appearance buttons and enable “Duplicate Ranges”. Thereafter, slices in the timeline are identified by a colored band at the top of the clip. This makes it easier to identify and view duplicate clips in order of appearance.

The other novelty of this new update is the function of voice isolation. Voice Isolation helps isolate human voice frequencies from noisy environments using machine learning. To enable voice isolation, simply mark a clip on the timeline and check the Voice Isolation option in the audio section. The program processes the audio, and selects only the frequencies of the human voice, deleting the rest of the sounds from the audio track.

Final Cut Pro 10.6.2 and updates to its companion apps (Motion and Compressor) are now available for download on the App Store for Macs.
