🤔 What is Qi wireless charging?

Currently, the most successful of these technologies is undoubtedly Qi. This universal inductive charging standard, created by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), is used by many wireless chargers. These accessories make it easy to charge your smartphone, simply by placing it on a carpet or other base. The charger itself must still be plugged into an electrical outlet, but the process is less painful than having to systematically connect your smartphone to a cable.

Basically, a Qi charger works thanks to magnetic induction: the passage of an electric current in a copper coil creates a magnetic field which propagates to the coil, creating a current which feeds the battery. Count up to approximately 4 hours to fully charge your smartphone.

🧐 Is wireless charging dangerous for my smartphone?

One of the biggest problems with inductive charging is that it often causes your smartphone to heat up. This is why it is essential to carefully check the compatibility of your smartphone (depending on the watts), to ensure that the product does not heat up too much and to favor trusted brands, such as Apple, Samsung, Belkin or Anker.

📱 Which smartphones are compatible with wireless charging?

For now, many Android flagships are already compatible with Qi, including those from Samsung or Huawei and Xiaomi to name a few. Apple’s new iPhones are also compatible with Qi or MagSafe charging. We invite you to discover our buying guide for the best smartphones compatible with wireless charging.
